The Cycles of Life, Nature and Law

Several years ago I attended a healing/teaching gathering with my daughter and my mother out of which came profound healing and personal healing for us all. It was a follow on gathering from one we had all individually attended where the focus was on living from a heart centred will. I awoke on the last morning of the gathering with my teacher’s voice in my head telling me I had to ‘go back to my old life’. Having spent many years of healing, self enquiry and personal development/transformation this did not sound like good news to me. Upon enquiry my teacher said ‘you have been called to an honourable profession’. I am a trained lawyer with 16 years practice experience, however at that point I had not been working in the legal profession for some 7 years and thought I had bolted that door. Being a good student, I started looking around for anything that might enable me to combine my legal skills with healing or other personal development skills that I had been working with for the previous 7 years.

Some 7 months later I receive an email from Cutting Edge Law inviting me to register for a conference called Lawyers as Healers and Peacemakers. I could not believe my eyes. I contacted Kim Wright, the founder of Cutting Edge Law, who encouraged me to attend the conference and that I would ‘find my tribe there’. How could I resist! The conference was amazing, I could not believe that I was in a law school surrounded by lawyers and potential lawyers as we did yoga, meditated, practiced empathic communication and bathed in a gong bath together. I learned about the various facets of Integrative Law and found myself happily bouncing away from the conference on the Integrative Law Movement bandwagon.

Fast forward two and a half years and Kim Wright and I attend the New Story Summit at Findhorn together in September 2014. In the registration choices I selected to be in the law group even though there were so many other tempting options to choose from. I wanted to be doing something more ‘spiritual’ or out in nature but felt that law was why I had been called to be there. As the days of the week long conference slipped by, I felt no nearer to knowing what I was meant to be doing with law and the personal awareness and consciousness work that I do now. On the very last day, at the very last group that I attended, it all became clear. I was asked by Mumta Ito, the visionary of the Europeans Citizens Initiative, if I would like to co-ordinate a Sacred Sites project in conjunction with the Europeans Citizens Initiative for the Rights of Nature. For me this is the perfect marriage of the spiritual, nature and law.

Now I am in the planning stage of organising events and seeking collaboration from those already running events or working with nature and sacred sites to bring together a series of events on the solstices and equinoxes leading up to World Earth Day 2nd April 2016 when the Europeans Citizens Initiative will officially be launched. Working together with the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature and the World Conscious Pact among others, we are planning a sacred ceremony for the COP21 in Paris in December, have an international petition in the pipeline with Avaaz and we seek to bring awareness to the need for the Rights of Nature to be recognised. Our events also seek to bring people to sacred sites around Europe and Worldwide in communion and ceremony and to bring awareness to the need for us to reconnect with nature.

Already in Central and South America there are various events happening with the same vision and energy, bringing greater awareness, we hope to bring this awareness of the interconnectedness of all things, especially our symbiotic relationship with nature to Europe so we may all live in harmony with nature, the cycles of life and each other.
