About Kosmos
KOSMOS is an ancient Greek term meaning the harmony and beauty of the universe wherein all parts have their place within the Whole.
Our Mission
The Kosmos mission is to inform, inspire, and engage individual and collective participation for transformation in harmony with all Life. We do this by sharing transformational thinking and policy initiatives, aesthetic beauty, and timeless wisdom—from local stories to global movements.
Our roots trace back to the United Nations, where in 2000 a group of globally-conscious, spiritually-oriented individuals—including NGO staff, diplomats, integral thinkers, and peacebuilders—began meeting in dialogue. This circle gave birth to Kosmos Journal.
Since then, a growing community of visionary authors, activists, spiritual leaders, economists, and ecologists have called attention to a world in crisis—and to a simultaneous awakening across many areas of inquiry that honors Indigenous and ancestral knowledge, spiritual insight, and practices of cooperation, sharing, and systems renewal across all levels of human experience.
In 2014, Kosmos conducted the first communication research study of the global transformation movement, led by Rhonda Fabian and Dr. Jen Horner, both alumnae of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Terms like “The Shift,” “Great Turning,” and “Metamodern” describe what many recognize as a movement of movements—a global call to realign our socio-economic systems with the deeper needs of humanity and the Earth.
Kosmos is a mission-driven, evolving community of associates, creatives, and wisdom holders working together to expand our vision of the possible. A new world is being born, and you can trace its emergence through Kosmos.
