Dear Reader,
First, thank you from our depths for your words of love and encouragement for Nancy Roof and all of us at Kosmos. Your well-wishes uplift us as we midwife a new website, a redesigned newsletter, and the inaugural edition of Kosmos Quarterly.
Yesterday, on a beautiful hike in the Brandywine Valley, I came upon a grove of ancestor trees dominated by 200-year-old tulip poplars, as well as black, northern red, and white oak, pignut hickory, and beech. Drawn to the tallest white oak, I rested my cheek on her broad trunk, more than three meters in circumference. Resting there, I imagined my heart merging with the heart of this mighty mother tree. Immediately, feelings of peace and stability permeated my being along with a felt sense of connection to all surrounding life. It was like touching the heart of the forest!
March 21 is the International Day of Forests. You are encouraged to visit a wooded place and connect with the trees. A friend of Kosmos, Nitin Das of Healing Forest offers beautiful art ceremonies you can practice, alone or with others. There is also a video by our thought-partner Sustainable Human titled, ‘How Trees Talk’. Amazing!
We encountered a wonderful community in New York City this week. The Assemblage is a collective of activists, artists and awake citizens transitioning from a society defined by individualism and separation into one of interconnectedness. Our editorial advisor, Alnoor Ladha spoke on a panel there. Please take a look.
Also, Kosmos Associates is honored to be in consultative status with the United Nations. We plan to share more frequently about activities there, thanks to our new UN advisor, Joni Carley.
The next newsletter will be the new format, (we hope!). And then the exciting work of co-creating the first Kosmos Quarterly begins. The very best way you can support us is by subscribing at this time if you have not already done so. Kosmos resonates to the urgent and emergent concerns of our time, sharing transformational models and collective insights of those in service to a more loving future for All. 100% of our funding comes from you.
In Gratitude,
R. Fabian

SAMARU | Living the spirit of the Amazon
By Liz Downes | A Reader’s Essay
In the current edition of Kosmos Journal
“The Sápara told us that for the forest’s spirit to remain intact and healthy, the oil has to be left in the ground. They told us to go back to our countries and talk to everyone – friends, family, organisations, governments – about the threats, not only to their land, but to all the Amazon.”
