Sacred Waters – Messages from two Indigenous Wisdom Keepers
Message from Jhaimy Alvarez-Acosta
According to the Ancestors we believe that the milky way is the cosmic river that appears each night in the sky and that touches the tips of two important glaciers in the Andes. From this connection the milky way donates a part of herself and gives us the sacred water that is then manifested here on Earth as a legacy for all of humanity. It is this sacred water that creates our rivers and oceans and that connects us here on Earth to our origins in the stars.
The water carries the same energy as mothers milk and represents to us the milk that is given to us by the Cosmic Mother through Mother Earth for our lives. Therefore, we also call her YakuMama (Mother Water) because we not only receive life from her but also the energy and the programmation of the water that goes into ourselves. Our traditional ceremonies with the water give us a way to plant new seeds, new ideas and to bring clarity and peace to all of humanity. Part of the connection and messages that we receive from the universe through the water is to connect more with who we are, understand more where we came from and where the water came from and in the same way we are then able to better understand ourselves.
The energy of the water, which is the connection to purity, energy, harmony and clarity – this is what humanity needs at this time…this sense of clarity. The Ancestors say that it is possible for us to cultivate water in the Mother Earth and in the same way to cultivate these values within ourselves. It is important to remember our water ceremonies because the water supports all of humanity and now this is the era of the water and therefore we are beginning the challenges with the water. It is in these times that the water is teaching us the purity of the sacred knowledge and the way that we connect with her is the way that we connect with the mountains, with the Apus, with ourselves. As we give more honour to the water and we honour this clarity, purity and peace we will also begin to honour that within ourselves.”

My heart is heavy, the Water of life – Mini Wicóni is speaking to us through our ceremonies and many people having dreams. As I hear the Voices standing up against the destruction of Grandmother Earth, I realize we need stand in Unity to protect the Water of Life. The gulf spill is still leading, the biggest cancer on the face of the earth – Tar Sands, the black snake of the Pipelines to carry this cancer, giant dams, the underground spider webs of fracking that can trigger giant shifts in the earth and the radiation of Fukashima spilling around Grandmother Earth in a silent blanket. We have no choice, because our Global communities are standing up sating “I will put my life on the line, because I will die anyway”.
My Grandmother told me of a time when water would be like gold, like many others heard in their young lives. Slowly these Prophecies came into our lives, we didn’t pay attention in our young days – because our back yards were not affected, back then it was the mining and farmers spraying chemicals. Even Countries that don’t use or want the pollution are now going to be affected, because now the poisons have become a Global giant destroying our sacred water. People are scrambling to find good water that is nowhere to be found in their communities. Our way of life through prayer is to prevent such hurtful disasters on behalf of our future generations; It is our responsibility. I ask all the Voices to stand together at this time in Unity. My prayers continue for all of you bringing attention to these Global Giants affecting us all as a whole and for the Global Giants to pay attention to their own children’s future. In a Sacred Hoop of Life, where there is no ending and no beginning!
Ana-hópta po! Hear my words!

VIDEO: Sacred Relationship
Water is sacred in Aboriginal culture. It is in our stories, it is in our ceremonies and it gives us life. In The Sacred Relationship, Elders from across Alberta, Canada teach us that water must be respected, because, what we do to the water, we do to ourselves. For generations, the relationship between Aboriginal people and the rest of Canada has been damaged. Can water be the common ground that begins to reconcile this relationship?
I have a tremendous need to be near and in the water…especially moving, live water…
Water and the mountains restores me…
The message you people give away is so simple, important and sacred that the whole of my being and interbeing is ONE with the birth of all beings and interbeings.
I have been blessing and thankful to my water everyday for the last 2 years.
Healing light on you and I as the ONE.
