Global Citizen Leadership Certificate Program

The 2nd annual Global Citizen Leadership Certificate Program is now being offered by Kosmos partner, The Global Citizens’ Initiative.

This online 8-week certificate course is called Fundamentals of Global Citizenship. It is intended to build the global citizen leadership skills of young and mid-level development professionals in government, international agencies, and business, professional or non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Last year the course graduated 20 outstanding global citizen leaders from 11 countries.

The 8-week course requires an estimated 3 hours per week  to complete. Course instruction begins on October 19, 2015 and ends December 11 2015. Participants are required to complete worksheets for each module to be submitted in a Portfolio by December 18th 2015. Certificates for those who successfully complete the course will be issued in January 2016.

Course Content

The course consists of 8 modules. Topics covered include human rights, gender equity, sustainable development, poverty reduction, and global peace and justice.

The Course is taught by experienced faculty from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Brandeis University, the United Nations Association, and TGCI staff. Participants receive a full set of course materials, including an online text; access to online seminars, an expert mentoring program, and a peer partner from another country.
