Isabel Ortiz is Director of the Global Social Justice Program at the Initiative for Policy Dialogue, Columbia University. Earlier, she was Associate Director of Policy at UNICEF, and senior advisor at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and at the Asian Development Bank. She has worked in more than 30 countries, providing advisory services to governments and development institutions, among them, DFID, the European Commission, KfW, UNDP and the World Bank. She has a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics, and has written 50 publications translated in several languages.

Sara focuses on economic and social policy in the context of the United Nations, IMF, World Bank and other international fora including the World Social Forum. Since coming to the FES in 2008, Sara has published several anthologies on topics including macroeconomic policy, inequality, social justice and social movements. She has also worked on issues in global governance including sustainable development and addressing the consequences of the 2008-9 financial crisis on developing countries

Hernán Cortés Saenz, from Barcelona (Spain), is pursuing a Ph.D. in International Relations at the Autonomous University of Barcelona focusing on Oil and Power Relations, and working as free-lance Consultant / Researcher on International Politics. He worked at the UBUNTU-World Forum of Civil Society Networks for the past 4 years as Policy and Executive Officer. His work focused on global governance, financial regulation, food issues, financing for development and the role of civil society. He has participated in several UN process, World Social Forums while being member of its International Council from 2010 until 2013.
