Kosmos Welcomes 2015
Happy New Year!
The Kosmos Team is welcoming 2015 by reflecting on our journey and striving to recognize the trends and themes anchoring and expressing in the emerging New Civilization. We are excited about our expansion in 2014 and what that means for the Kosmos Community in 2015 and beyond. At the heart of Kosmos is World Community, Global Citizenship, Personal Development and Systemic Change of all institutions and in 2015 we look forward to learning, experiencing and reporting on ever increasing essential change in the way we live together on this planet we all call home.
A heartening example of one of the trends emerging in the New Civilization is sharing. We are seeing this at the local level with Tiny Houses, built in various cities to alleviate homelessness. Our colleagues at Yes! Magazine reported on this and it helps us understand and celebrate that sharing is of societal value and that shared responsibility is becoming a way of life.
From donation of land, materials, and money, to hundreds of volunteers giving time and talent, sharing is evident at all scales from local to global. One of our partners, Share the World’s Resources has just started a campaign for sharing at a global level.
Kosmos is also pleased to announce our partnership with PeaceJam and the One Billion Acts of Peace initiative, a five year effort promoted as potentially the largest global citizenship campaign to date. This initiative is supported by numerous groups, youth around the world, and many Nobel Laureates. You are invited to submit your Act of Peace ~ discover how at: http://www.1billionacts.org and watch for updates periodically in the Kosmos Newsletter and on our Facebook page.
From the Commons, to Transition Towns, to the New Story Summit, to a sharing economy, to new ways of communicating and doing business, to Solar Energy, Eco-Villages, Restorative Justice, peacebuilding around the world, and more, Kosmos will continue to share trends, cutting edge ideas, innovative projects and policy changes in all areas of our global society.
