Kosmos and Omega Team Up on the Commons

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kosmos Journal is excited to participate as a media partner with Omega Institute for the upcoming Conference: Where We Go From Here • October 24–26 • Building the Collaborative Commons, in Rhinebeck, New York.

The Commons has been a special project for Kosmos since the initial international conference held in Berlin which gathered people from around the world working on the Commons. Kosmos Journal has consistently published articles and is recognized as one of the leading proponents of raising awareness and reporting on the Commons Movement, including the Wealth of the Commons by David Bollier and the groundbreaking original Kosmos series: Toward a Common Theory of Value by James Quilligan.

The mission of Kosmos Associates is to inform, inspire and engage individual and collective participation in global transformation in harmony with all Life. We do this by sharing transformational thinking and policy initiatives, aesthetic beauty and collective wisdom.

The description offered by Omega is aligned with the mission of Kosmos: “In many ways the Commons is the foundation of our society. How do we take back and renew this heritage? What examples already exist? How does all that we have learned about building a resilient, regenerative society apply today?

Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, founded in 1977, is a non-profit educational retreat center located in Rhinebeck, New York. The institute’s stated mission is to “provide hope and healing for individuals and society through innovative educational experiences that awaken the best in the human spirit”.

“As we consider how to bring forth the changes that will help us move toward a world of greater social equity and environmental resilience, it is important to understand the interconnectedness of all the issues at hand. During this gathering, led by activists and thinkers on the front lines of change, we explore “The Commons” as a unifying paradigm to move us forward.”
