DEFINITION
There is a difference between world wisdom and world knowledge. Knowledge is accumulated recorded information about life forms, events, laws, etc.  World wisdom is knowledge plus love made applicable in solving the problems of the world. In wisdom, writes noted scholar Torkom Saraydarian, “…knowledge is used to help people strive towards their ultimate destiny, to create unity and synthesis, to reveal latent potentials…..and use them to achieve health, happiness, prosperity, success for enlightenment on a global level.”    Real world wisdom enriches the whole world; it works for the long term and not for one aspect of a world problem.

WORLD WISDOM IN ACTION
World wisdom in action can be seen today through a different lens….. not of influential individuals, but rather through  the ROLE OF GROUPS and GROUP CONSCIOUSNESS . Humanity’s surge for progress has meant the emergence of new, world-wide groups in embryonic stages of creating a saner world based on principles and values that allow for a re-construction of our international, national and personal relationships. It is seen through an attitude of mind:  groups  whose  activities in politics, education, communications, the arts,  science, religion and economics are characterized by a world consciousness and welfare with a deep sense of responsibility to humanity.

THE SEEDS OF A WORLD COMMUNITY
World wisdom in action can be seen through the 2,000,000+ organizations now working toward ecological sustainability, social justice and progressive causes as researched by Paul Hawken in his book,  Blessed Unrest. “The seed was there and the soil was right” according to the Rockefeller Foundation, in explaining this remarkable world-wide development.
Group consciousness can be seen in the deep change of forms and structures worldwide, pushed by the philosophy of interconnectedness and globalization, and the development of technology. “Web 2.0“ is a story about groups, community and a tool for bringing together the small contributions of millions of people and making them matter. Add to that the development of cheap wireless and mobile communications, the trends of global outsourcing, and patterns of global immigration, and we have a the seeds of a world community.
                 
THE UNDERLYING PRINCIPLE
Group consciousness is the awareness of your true Self existing within others and the true Self in others existing within you. World wisdom in action is reducing our tendencies to isolate ourselves and serve our own interests so much of the time. It provides encouragement for the viability of long-term world change – millions of people world-wide have already formed, and continue to form groups based on a conviction and pledge to heal all forms of hatred, social injustice, sectarian, national and religious divisions while evoking the sense of brotherhood/sisterhood and fostering the sense of mutual interrelationship. This is true world wisdom in action.
