In the news of the last ten years have you once seen a moment's attention to the quality of our future together? I mean the mainstream news. Is that a sad commentary on our own collective consciousness as a global society or what? Gulp! Or is it more likely just old institutions just trying to hold their ground in the face of the obvious. That’s right blame it on “them”. But … there is as you know very little of …“us and them” left.
The elephant in the closet is that we are already a functioning global civilization!
Have you ever considered that? This can actually be measured by the Tsunami of communications that shred our borders at a hundred billion messages a day. Yes, that’s what I said. Text messaged cell phones and Emails are doing most of the work. And then there is the flood of common cultural experiences we all share globally from food, to music, to sport, and the rest of the list is obvious when you start to think about it. The Olympic games started the whole thing a hundred years ago. Now we have a global event every couple of hours and the events are getter bigger and more compelling and more involving as the virtual crowd begins to muster itself and ……we notice that we all pretty much want the same thing. Come out of your survival trance people!
Inside us all … are honest candidates for paradise just waiting for someone to announce. The party is on! But the build up is also important. Just like in a good movie it’s really nice to have a long chase scene before the final victory. It’s also nice that in this way not just those wealthy enough to sit high above the din will get it. Everybody gets to get it.
Ah, and the villains are playing their roles so well. No one will be allowed to sit back and wait until someone else does the tough jobs … no…no…no. Everyone must have a finger in the dyke. Everyone must wake up to the call of the earth. And the villains still have Pearl Pureheart tied to the railroad track and are molesting her on a daily basis. You can hear their arrogant cackling beneath the altar s of our former national shrines.
So, who is steering the ship! Really? I think it is our selective /collective intelligence which is informed in seconds by Saint Google and others as we proceed with a global web of intelligence that will naturally get us to the best of all possible worlds.
