Dear Community, Here’s what’s up for October!
Exclusive to Members! Here’s a sneak peek at the Cover for the new edition of Kosmos Journal – The Heart of Awakening. Available November 1.
About this edition, editor Nancy Roof writes:
“All things must end in order to be born anew. In our personal lives, we may experience a devastating Dark Night of the Soul or a Kali experience that rips away everything we love and believe in that no longer serves Life. On a larger scale, civilizations collapse and transformations disrupt cultures and infrastructures that no longer serve the common good. Nature has her way of making systemic change imperative.
We grieve the suffering and loss. Then, we fearlessly face healing our karma or shadow. In time, we recognize the evolving capacities that are gifts of our relentless efforts. These gifts enhance us individually, socially, culturally, scientifically, and technologically. As we endure the daily media onslaught of clashes and conflicts, we are gifted with the capacity to expand and deepen our wisdom. We realize that human rights, peace, and security that many of us take for granted, are not inherently guaranteed. They require us to act, to stand up to power, to become Warriors of the Spirit.”

“Values are much more than what is important to you; they are the energetic drivers of our aspirations and intentions. They are the source of all human motivations and decision-making”. – Barrett
In honor of Values Day, October 19, 2017, Richard Barrett (of www.valuescentre.com) is offering his new book, Everything I Have Learned About Values, free to Kosmos Community Members. In the book, he summarizes his thirty-year journey into understanding the importance of values in human decision-making. Richard shares with us the vital role values play in our personal, organisational and societal life. He explains the link between values and consciousness and how it is possible to use values to map the consciousness of organisations and nations.

Have you been following the Kosmos Live Podcast Series, Preparing for Profound Change? Follow all the episodes here:
In the new Fall | Winter 2017 edition of Kosmos Journal, we share four key takeaways from the series. Keep an eye out for this helpful digest.
“We know profound change is coming. We feel it in our bodies. The converging crises have been named, like hurricanes brewing off shore: climate chaos, escalating militarization, economic collapse, all forms of intolerance. The early effects of these mighty storms are already being felt by many, lashing the coastlines of our lives. For others, the unthinkable has already occurred.
The Kosmos Live podcast series “Preparing for Profound Change” is a continuing effort to gather wisdom to help us cope with what lies ahead. We have turned to trusted friends for insight and guidance. How did we get here and what is happening now? What can we do to brace ourselves and our families for the impacts to come? Our featured guests offer personal practices and practical strategies in four key areas for rebuilding our world, based on the values of unity, courage, and compassion. They demonstrate these values through their works and words.” – Fabian
Kosmos Community Member Gillian replied:
“I will try to be ready to drop all outdated ideas that have been rife throughout the history of man, but now have no place in our world. We are in a time of upheaval and have to try to come out of it as a united humanity without old prejudices and vendettas. There may be more truth than we realise in that old saying ‘United we stand, divided we fall’.”
